From the Revolutionary War to the War of 1812, the East Coast offers plenty for history buffs and paranormal fanatics. Although many wars and battles took place before Europeans arrived, and a few after, the American Revolutionary War is considered the first “American” war with detailed records. The American Revolutionary War lasted from 1764 to 1783. This was followed by the War of 1812, the Indian Wars, the Mexican War, the Civil War, and the Spanish-American War, which all took place on American soil. Several battles from various wars outside of the U.S. appeared here as well.

Battlegrounds are places that are frozen in time. The amount of violence and trauma that lingers on the very land where men and women died leaves many to believe these areas are truly haunted by fallen soldiers and bystanders. Paranormal investigators use the term “Traumatic Imprints” for certain spaces, and battlefields are the most basic example of what that means. Anywhere there was intense energy, be it violence, fear, or chaos, leaves behind a trace record of this experience. That, mixed with the high number of deaths in these areas, creates a landscape for paranormal activity to thrive.
