Chessie

The Loch Ness monster meets a brackish bay and we get a Chessie.

“Reports of a large snakelike animal seen in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries made the news in the late 1960’s.”-Weird VA. Other accounts trickled in over the years. He/she has been seen in a lot of the rivers that stem out from the bay including the Chester River and Appomattox River. Robert and Karen Frew even caught what they believe to be Chessie on camera in 1982. The video shows the serpent swimming towards a group of swimmers, dive under them, and come out the other side. According to Andy Nunez, the video was examined by Smithsonian but it was found to be “too vague” so it was sent to Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab. Unfortunately they lost their funding and had to give up the mission of deciphering the video. Even though some depictions of Chessie shows them looking like Loch Ness with fins and a tail. However, accounts seem to place Chessie in the reptile family look like a large snake.
